Old Raven House Care Home In Hook Residents Delighted By Animal Therapy Visit

Residents of Old Raven House, a care home nestled in the picturesque village of Hook, near Basingstoke, experienced a delightful surprise this week when rabbits, guinea pigs, a chicken, and ducks paid them a visit.

Pony Pals, known for their compassionate approach to animal therapy, brought these animals to Old Raven House as part of their mission to provide therapeutic experiences to care homes and hospitals.

Animal therapy has been scientifically proven to offer significant benefits, particularly for the elderly in care home settings. The presence of these friendly animals provides a calming effect, evoking fond memories and promoting social interaction among the residents.

Anne Turner, the home manager at Old Raven House, expressed her gratitude: “The visit from Pony Pals was an absolute joy for everyone involved. It’s heartwarming to see the smiles and hear the laughter among our residents. Such experiences are invaluable, especially for those in our care with dementia. The therapeutic benefits of animal interaction are undeniable, and we are deeply appreciative of Pony Pals for making this day so special.”
