Nottinghamshire Care Home Colleagues Scoop Two Awards for Outstanding Care

Two Nottinghamshire care home colleagues are celebrating after being named among the county’s best care professionals at the recent Proud to Care Awards.

Alina Tebbutt, from Skylarks in West Bridgford, was named Champion of Activities and Wellbeing Award while Kirby Scott-Bennett, Clinical Lead at Church Farm Nursing Home in Cotgrave, took home the Excellence in Nursing Practice Award.

Both homes are part of Church Farm Care, a family-run care provider with five homes across Nottinghamshire, with the double success recognising its colleagues’ commitment to delivering person-centred care. The Proud to Care Awards celebrate individuals working across the care sector, shining a spotlight on those making a difference to the lives of people receiving care.

Alina was recognised for her approach to supporting residents at Skylarks, where she creates experiences centred around their individual interests and wishes. Her efforts have included organising trips to the seaside, boat outings and personalised birthday experiences, helping residents continue enjoying the activities and experiences that matter to them.

Meanwhile, Kirby’s award recognises her approach to nursing and leadership at Church Farm Care, where she was promoted to Clinical Lead in May 2026, less than two years after joining the organisation. Alongside supporting colleagues in delivering high standards of care, Kirby has been recognised for her compassionate approach to residents and families, particularly during end-of-life care. She is also continuing her professional development, studying towards a Level 7 Postgraduate Certificate at Nottingham Trent University.

Lucy Atkinson, Co-founder and Director at Church Farm Care, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to see Alina and Kirby recognised at the Proud to Care Awards. Both are incredibly deserving winners who make a real difference to the people living in our homes.

“Alina is what we call a ‘ripple maker’. She takes the time to understand what matters to residents, whether that’s helping someone fulfil a lifelong wish or making a small change that improves their everyday life. Kirby brings that same dedication to nursing, providing compassionate care and reassurance to residents and their families.
“To have two colleagues recognised in this way is a proud moment for everyone at Church Farm Care and reflects the dedication of our wider team.”

The awards also saw long-serving colleague Janet Maiella named as a finalist, recognising her 40 years of service in the care sector.
