A New Milton-based care home has been awarded a platinum accreditation in dementia care, ranking in the top 1% nationally.
Mornington Court, part of Cinnamon Care Collection, has officially been awarded the highly coveted Platinum Accreditation in Dementia Care for 2026-27. The platinum accreditation is a milestone reserved exclusively for exceptional care homes. Following a rigorous independent assessment, Mornington Court was graded in the top 1% of dementia care providers nationwide.
The updated report from the National Dementia Care Accreditation Scheme (NaDCAS) highlights the home’s extraordinary dedication to high-quality care, evaluating performance across three fundamental pillars: person-centred practice, the enabling environment and team approach and culture.
Key achievements highlighted in the report include Mornington Court achieving an exceptional final validation score of 91.06%, representing 397.0 out of 436.0 total points. Furthermore, the home secured a perfect 100% score in ‘The Senses for Wellbeing’ environmental evaluation, proving that its physical, social and sensory spaces are fully optimised for residents living with dementia.
The independent audit also highly commended the staff’s core care practices, specifically praising their exceptional ability to patiently enter into residents’ current realities and support their emotional needs with immense compassion.
Commenting on the achievement, Gemma Ridout-Bowden, Senior General Manager at Mornington Court, said: “We are extremely proud to receive the Platinum Dementia Accreditation Award, ranking in the top 1% nationally. This represents so much more than a title; it reflects our daily commitment to providing an environment adapted to independence and meaningful engagement.
“Every day, our team works with compassion and understanding to ensure our residents feel safe and truly at home. This recognition truly belongs to our incredible staff, wonderful residents and the families who trust us to care.”
