Local Care Home Presents Cheque to Local Dementia Charity

Bushey House Beaumont care home in Bushey recently presented Herts Musical Memories with a cheque for £650 to support a local dementia charity who connect to those living with dementia through music and song.

The grant had been awarded by Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, a charity that helps older people and adults with a disability or mental health problems across England, Scotland and Wales by offering grants to help people connect or re-connect with others in their local community.

Holly White, Fundraiser said “Everyone at Herts Musical Memories would like to thank The Barchester Foundation for their generosity and support! Receiving £650 helps us to continue the work we do supporting local Bushey residents and others across Hertfordshire affected by Dementia. We aim to provide a welcoming environment with use of musical therapy to combat this degenerative disease in respects to both physical and mental wellbeing for our carers and members.”

Carla Levy-Trup from Barchester said: “We are always keen to show as much support as we can to local charities. With this being Dementia Awareness Week, it’s wonderful to support a charity that brings so much joy to those living with dementia.”
