Head House Keeper At York Care Home Scoops Up Ancillary Person Of The Year Award

Minster Grange Care Home in York is celebrating after their Head of Housekeeping, Natalie Hatfield, was awarded the ‘Ancillary Person of the Year Award’ at the Maria Mallaband and Countrywide Care Awards.

Natalie, who has worked at Minster Grange for 9 years, was named as a joint winner for this award alongside Rebecca Cessford, from Clarendon Court at the recent 9th annual internal MMCG Awards.

Natalie Hatfield said: “I was so honored to have been shortlisted for this award, let alone go on to win it with Rebecca! Knowing the passion I have for my job has been recognised by the judges is such a reassuring thought and truly makes all my hard work feel worth the effort.

“I am looking forward to sharing this achievement with the rest of my colleagues at Minster Grange, I know how excited for me they will be and it will be such a great boost for the home. I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone.”

Specifically designed to celebrate those in Ancillary roles, the winner of the Ancillary Person of the Year Award is someone who provides superior support to the residents.

It was thanks to her constant determination that Natalie was selected as a joint winner for this award. Throughout her career, she has continued to go above and beyond what was expected of her, becoming an essential part of running the Minster Grange home and consistently keeping it in tip-top shape.

Mitch Letherby, Minster Grange Home Manager, said: “We are so happy about Natalie’s win – it is definitely well-deserved! She continues to put the care home and everyone living here first, no matter what, and it is great to see that being recognised. I could not be a prouder manager than I am today, so a massive well done Natalie, you have made us all very proud!”

The MMCG Care Awards are a company-wide event which highlights the outstanding contributions of colleagues across the company’s 80+ care homes.

This year’s awards included 13 different categories, including ‘Inspiring Nurse of the Year’, ‘MMCG Master Chef, ‘Manager of the Year’, and ‘Care Home of the Year’. Every single member of staff at MMCG has the opportunity to be nominated in their respective category.
