Camberley Manor in Deepcut Launches Popular Canvas Painting Masterclass
Camberley Manor, a care home in Surrey Heath, has introduced a unique canvas painting masterclass, bringing together residents and the wider community for a fun and creative experience.
The home has partnered with professional artist Andy Connell from Collingwood College to host these popular painting sessions. So far, two classes have been held, both of which have been a resounding success, with participants creating both still life and landscape artworks. These sessions are open to the public, encouraging people of all ages and abilities to join residents in exploring their artistic side.
The workshops are as much about enjoyment and community as they are about art. With cheese and wine on offer throughout, guests and residents alike have shared plenty of laughter and camaraderie. Many have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of their finished pieces by the end of the session.
One attendee from Age Concern Surrey Heath shared, “I really enjoyed it. I know I’m not very good, but it was great fun. Thank you to Andy and all the staff who gave us such a warm welcome!”
Business Development Manager Jo Anderson-Woodley added, “Group painting classes like this are growing in popularity, and we wanted to offer our residents the chance to experience something similar. Mr. Connell has been incredibly generous in donating his time and skills to host these classes, and the response has been fantastic. The local community has embraced the concept, and we’re excited to continue offering more sessions in the future!”
