Simply The Best – Care Home Worker Scoops Coveted Award

Staff and residents at Barchester’s Ashcombe House Care Home in Basingstoke are over the moon because their much-loved Activities Coordinators, Michelle Martin, has been named the winner of the Health & Wellbeing category of Basingstoke’s A Place To Be Proud Of awards.

The ‘A Place to Be Proud Of’ Awards are organised by Destination Basingstoke, they recognise the contributions made by individuals, groups, organisations, places and initiatives that make Basingstoke a diverse, vibrant community and a great place to live and do business.

Michelle Martin heads up the activities team at Ashcombe House care home. She works extremely hard ensuring that the residents have an enriched and meaningful life, making sure there is plenty going on in the home and outings out. Michelle is a ray of sunshine as soon as she walks into the home and is adored by her residents and her colleagues alike.

General Manager of Ashcombe House, Louise Lambert, comments: “We are all delighted for Michelle, she is a wonderful member of the team and all our staff and residents love her. She works incredibly hard and she absolutely loves what she does, so we’re very happy to see her commitment recognised. It is so very well deserved.”
