Signature Senior Lifestyle Named Care Home Group of the Year at LaingBuisson Awards 2024
Care home provider Signature Living has been awarded Care Home Group of the Year at the prestigious LaingBuisson Awards 2024.
Signature Senior Lifestyle operates 10 care homes, providing a range of services, including residential, nursing, dementia, and respite care.
The judges heard how, in the past 12 months, Signature Senior Lifestyle has opened its flagship Signature at Highgate care home and introduced several new initiatives to support its colleagues. The company’s innovative approach to flexible working has significantly improved colleague retention, with a 96% retention rate in the first year.
Additionally, Signature Senior Lifestyle has launched an in-house mobile app to improve communication and support among its team, which has further strengthened its position as an employer of choice in the sector.
Beyond its operational achievements, Signature Senior Lifestyle is actively engaged in advocating for positive change across the social care sector. The company has partnered with Jayne Connery and Care Campaign for the Vulnerable (CCFTV) to become a vocal proponent of safety monitoring technology as part of its efforts to enhance care standards and transparency – and will shortly publish a policy white paper to support other providers to implement their own safety monitoring programmes.
CEO Kay Cox, who took the helm in 2023, has spoken at numerous industry events, sharing insights into Signature Senior Lifestyle’s approach and encouraging others to adopt similar practices to improve care across the sector. The initiative was awarded the “Best Use of Technology and Digital Care Strategy” accolade at the Care Home Awards in May of this year.
Their growth and innovation plans show no sign of slowing, as the luxury care provider plans to open three new care homes within the next two years to expand their footprint. These developments will further cement the provider’s role as a leader in the care sector, while continuing to uphold its core values of compassion, transparency, and excellence.
Judges from the LaingBuisson Awards explained their choice of winner, saying: “Signature Senior Lifestyle stands out for its innovation and commitment to improvement, particularly with the development of its staff app, which positively impacts both the team and those in their care.”
In response to receiving the LaingBuisson Care Group of the Year award, Kay Cox, CEO of Signature Senior Lifestyle, said: “We’re proud to be recognised in this way by the LaingBuisson Awards. This is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our teams, who are committed to improving care and making a real difference in the lives of our residents. We remain focused on raising the bar in terms of care standards, innovation, and colleague support, and we look forward to continuing to lead by example as we expand across the UK.”
