Riverdale Court Wins Again!
December Home Manager, Nicolas Kee Mew has “scooped” first prize at the Markel 3rd Sector awards for the dementia care award. The award ceremony was held at the London Marriott hotel and hosted by Dame Esther Rantzen and Rebecca Wilcox. Nicolas was recognised at the awards ceremony for his forward thinking around care. In particular, he was commended for introducing new sensory activities and technology at Riverdale Court whilst focusing on truly person centred care and ensuring residents are empowered and maintain maximum independence.
The award comes just weeks after Riverdale Court were inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and recognised as Outstanding in the leadership of the home and rated overall as a Good care home. Riverdale Court has also received awards for Innovation, Contribution to older people in Bexley and Caring at its Best. The home has been recognised for improving activities and the environment for people living with dementia.
Riverdale Court has welcomed a number of new community groups to the home to enhance the lives of those who live there and to help raise awareness of dementia.
