OSJCT Recognised In Linca Awards
Eight care professionals at The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) have been recognised in the 2017 Lincolnshire Care Awards.
Organised by Lincolnshire Care Association (LinCA), the awards celebrate outstanding care workers, teams and organisations.
The OSJCT finalists came from two homes – Apple Trees in Grantham and Fosse House in Lincoln.
Denise Booth, General Manager at Apple Trees, was shortlisted for Inspirational Leader, with Frances Young (Hospitality Asst), Marie Young (Senior Support Worker) and Amanda Cresswell (Chef) being nominated for the Team of the Year Award. Shelly Perry, the Deputy Home Manager who has only been with OSJCT for nine months was nominated for best Newcomer. The final Apple Trees representative was Alison Goodyear (Support Worker), who was hoping to win the Residential Care award, as were Sharon Noble and Jane Robinson, Carers from Fosse House.
“We are very proud to have had so many of our colleagues nominated for these prestigious awards. At OSJCT we work hard to ensure we deliver the very best care for our residents,” said Caroline Dunagan, Assistant Operations Director, Lincolnshire. “To achieve that, we need high quality people and it is wonderful to see their dedication and professionalism recognised on this special occasion.”
Membership organisation LinCA represents the views and concerns of care homes; domiciliary care providers; community, day and supported living services; and independent social workers.
Established in 1991 OSJCT operates 15 care homes in Lincolnshire, employing some 860 care professionals, who look after more than nearly 700 residents.
Commenting on the awards, which were held at the Lincoln Hotel on 23rd February, Melanie Weatherley, Chair of Lincolnshire Care Association, said: “It’s an honour to be able to host this event and recognise the cream of the crop from the care sector in Lincolnshire. I meet brilliant care workers, nurses and leaders in the industry every day. We don’t often hear about their contributions and achievements but we should, because the work they do is so important and valued by the people they care for, and their colleagues.”
