Local Carers Scoops Coveted Care Title

Chorleywood Beaumont Care Home, Barchester Healthcare is celebrating as two of the team has been crowned a Divisional winner in the Barchester Care Awards 2023.

Nadica Babik, nominated for Hospitality Champion and Julija Paklar nominated for Carer of the year, both in the South Division and are through to the national round of judging.

The Barchester Care Awards celebrate the staff who go the extra mile for the benefit of the 13,000 residents living in Barchester’s 252 care homes and private hospitals across the country. Categories range from ‘Registered Nurse of the Year’ and ‘Carer of the Year’ to ‘Dementia Care Champion’ and ‘Activities Coordinator of the Year’.

Almost 4,000 nominations were received from homes and hospitals across the UK. All entries were a very high standard and Nadica and Julija are both over the moon to have been named winners for the South Division beating hundreds of other nominees.

Nadica said: “I am so overwhelmed, I cannot believe it. I absolutely love my job and adore the residents and their families. I am so grateful they nominated me.”

Julija said “This is the best news. I am so proud to be part of a great team and honoured to support the residents at Chorleywood Beaumont.”

As the winner for The South, Nadica and Julija are through to the national finals in which the overall winner is decided. They will join winners from across the UK at a special awards event in October to celebrate their outstanding achievements and discover if they have won a national award.
