Market Lodge, which provides short and long-stay services for people with acquired brain injuries, received the accreditation from national charity, Headway, following an on-site compliance assessment.
The ‘Approved Provider’ scheme highlights care services that demonstrate a provision of appropriate specialist care for those with complex, physical and cognitive impairment due to acquired brain injury. Staff within the unit also had to prove that they are aware of and responsive to brain injury issues and can relay appropriate information to the service user, family and other carers when necessary.
Hayley Attwood, manager at Market Lodge, said: “Market Lodge provides a one-to-one services for residents with a variety of needs – from long-term support to a short-stay rehabilitative service design to help people get back on their feet after a brain injury – so it’s important that our staff provide the highest quality care at all times. This accreditation confirms the high level of care I already know our staff offer at all times.
“While many of our service users come from the local area, we have supported people with acquired brain injuries from across the country, whatever their needs, and with this accreditation we hope to help an even larger number of people in their time of need.”
