The whole team at Gracewell of Sutton Coldfield were delighted to win ‘Best Care Team’ at the National Care Awards on Friday 29th November.
The team at Gracewell of Sutton Coldfield delivers an exceptional level of personalised care to ensure residents have the best quality of life possible. The home itself is fully equipped with a salon offering haircuts, manicures and pampering sessions so residents can always look and feel their best. The team have recently opened a ‘corner shop’ so residents can purchase an array of toiletries, confectionery, stationery, cards and gifts to maintain their independence. They also organise individual activities bespoke to residents, including having a local diving school come and visit a resident who was an avid diver in his youth so he could share stories. They have also worked with an external charity, Project Semaphore, who work to get naval veterans online to support with social isolation, this led to three residents being presented with iPads.
Gracewell of Sutton Coldfield work with a range of organisations to ensure all their residents can remain part of their local community. Last year, they partnered with Age Concern Birmingham on an anti-loneliness campaign and this year they supported Birmingham LGBT’s Aging with Pride initiative. The team have also introduced a Wednesday club that involves inviting the community in twice a month for musical entertainment and a complimentary buffet-style lunch.
