Daughter Of Resident At Wolverhampton Home Climbs Mount Snowden And Raises Over £800
The daughter of a resident at a Wolverhampton home climbed Mount Snowden and managed to raise over £800 in the process.
Sarah Smith is the daughter of Brian Platt, who lives at MHA Waterside House and took part in the challenge along with some of her work colleagues.
Sarah works as an office administrator for Barton Storage Systems, in Bilston and raised a total of £881.00 which will go towards the home’s amenities fund.
Following the completion of the challenge Sarah and operations director Steve Barrett visited the home to present them with the cheque.
MHA Waterside House provides a safe and caring environment for up to 60 people living with dementia.
Speaking after the presentation Sarah said:
“One of my colleagues mentioned climbing Mount Snowden and doing it to raise funds for a charity and I was very keen to be a part of it.
“I then mentioned MHA Waterside House as a potential as it’s somewhere that is very close to my heart.
“My dad is very happy here and the staff are a credit to MHA.
“It was the first time I had done something like this, and I am very happy I chose to do it.
“The residents and staff were all very happy when me and Steve visited and it was a great feeling.
“The money will go into the home’s amenities fund, from which activities and trips will be arranged for residents.
“I want to thank everyone who supported us, it’s highly appreciated, and your generosity will go a long way.”
