Colten Care Cuppas Raise £2,700 For Macmillan
Family-owned Colten Care has raised £2,700 to help people living with the impact of a cancer diagnosis.
Relatives, friends and community contacts joined residents and staff at the south coast operator’s 19 homes for the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
As well as cuppas and cakes, Colten Care marked the annual fundraiser with live music, quizzes, raffles and bring-and-buy stalls.
Karen Burdon, Activities Manager, said: “It was a wonderful opportunity to open our doors and welcome friends old and new. Our residents really value being part of the community and we all enjoy raising money for good causes. Everyone at Colten Care says a huge thank you to those who came in, got behind the day and helped us raise money.”
Taking part in the coffee morning were Colten Care’s 11 Dorset homes, seven in Hampshire and one in Salisbury. Across the group, more than 150 visitors called in on the day.
The Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is part of a global campaign by the Macmillan Cancer Support charity. The aim is to help ensure that no one has to face cancer alone.
Colten Care supports the campaign each year along with a range of other charities chosen by residents
