Care Home’s Summer Fair Raises Hundreds For Residents

SUmmerHUNDREDS of pounds have been raised for Sheffield care home residents following their annual summer fair.

The Deputy Lord Mayor Councillor Tony Downing and Lady Deputy Mayoress opened the event at The Laurels and The Limes Care Home, on Manchester Road.

Visitors, residents and staff all enjoyed live music from the Yorkshire Tea Bags Skiffle Band.

There were stalls selling cakes, jewelry and books, a BBQ, raffle, tombola and games for children, including hook-a-duck.

Over £550 was raised for the residents’ fund, which contributes to activities and trips for those living at the home.

Louise Spooner, home manager at The Laurels Care Home, said: “I would like to thank all our visitors for attending the annual summer fair and helping to raise a brilliant amount for our residents’ fund.

“A special thank you goes to Deputy Lord Mayor Councillor Tony Downing for officially opening the event.

“The residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed speaking to Cllr Downing as well as seeing friends and family enjoying the fair. A wonderful day was had by all.”
