Care Home Workers Are Skydiving To Raise £1,500
Three intrepid care home workers from Kings Park Care Home in Ferndown are skydiving to raise vital funds for Lewis-Manning Hospice Care. This incredible local charity holds a special place in the hearts of both staff and residents due to the exceptional, free care they provide to individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses in the Dorset area.
Many members of the team, residents and community at Kings Park have personal connections to the cause, whether through their own experiences or a loved one’s diagnosis, loss or supporting others through bereavement. This skydive is their way of giving back and showing support for the vital work Lewis-Manning does every day.
Taking place on Saturday June 14th at Old Sarum in Salisbury, the team made up of Home Services Advisor, Jane Shanahan, Community Care Lead, Stephanie Reed and Activities Lead, Angela Cawsey, will all be diving through the clouds aiming to raise £1,500 to help Lewis-Manning Hospice Care continue to support members of the community and their loved ones in their hour of need.Skydiving is something way outside of the team’s comfort zone, but they wanted to be involved in the Lewis-Manning Skydive ’25 Challenge in order to raise a substantial amount!
Residents, their relatives and staff at the home are all supporting the team in their fundraising and are planning a party to celebrate their achievement when they return from their skydiving adventure.
Kings Park General Manager, Jenna May, said:
“We are all so proud of our brave colleagues who are determined to raise as much money as they can for our brilliant friends at Lewis-Manning Hospice Care. We think Stephanie, Angela and Jane are all crazy but we’re also in awe of their amazing courage. Everyone here at Kings Park is 100% behind them, supporting them all the way!”
