Care Home Celebrates Dedicated Staff
Staff and residents at dementia specialist care home Camelot House and Lodge in Wellington have had a special celebration to acknowledge the dedication of the people who work there.
Long-service awards were presented to 10 colleagues who have worked at the home for at least a decade, while group administration manager Ann Vaughan and group maintenance manager Barry Boulton received special awards for notching up 15 years and 16 years respectively.
Manager Zillah Oakes said: “It is often said that an organisation is only as good as its people, but nowhere is this more true than in the care sector.
“I am so proud of my committed and caring colleagues at Camelot House and Lodge, and this was a perfect opportunity to thank them for all their hard work.
“Altogether 76 people received awards – and we handed out a few unexpected ones too, like the Keep Calm and Carry On Award, the Motivation on Tap Award and – just for a laugh – the Most Likely To Appear On Reality TV Award.
“It was a lovely occasion, enjoyed by staff and residents alike, and was followed by a delicious buffet lunch.
“We know how important it is to make sure our staff are aware how very much we appreciate the dedication they bring to work every day, and we try to communicate that on an ongoing basis, but this ceremony was a great opportunity to do so publicly and I think everyone really enjoyed themselves.”
