Barchester Opens Sutton Grange Care Home In Southport

Barchester’s Sutton Grange, in Southport, is the first of the national care provider’s new builds to open this year and it will provide high-quality residential, nursing and dementia care to the local community.

The 70-bed care home is another new build in partnership with Cinnamon, which has been designed by Condy Lofthouse Architects and constructed by builder and developer Seddon.

The home offers a warm and homely environment with a spacious garden, comfortable lounges, sunlit communal balconies and a beauty salon. Solar panels and a charge point for electric cars help ensure Sutton Grange is an environmentally friendly addition to the area.

Following a speech given by Barchester’s new CEO, Dr Pete Calveley, a plaque was unveiled by inspirational local sportsperson, Mark Goulder, and founder of the charity campaign Heart4Heart, Pauline Howard. Heart4Heart was chosen by Barchester’s Charitable Foundation to receive two defibrillators due to the amazing work done to get more potentially life-saving equipment installed in public places locally.

Joanne Revie, General Manager at Sutton Grangesaid: “The care home is named after the man who founded the town of Southport in 1792, William Sutton.

“The home is just fantastic. The first residents will be moving in this week and the Sutton Grange team can’t wait to welcome them!”

John Gilman, ‎Development Manager at Seddon Care Partnerships, said: “The scheme has seen Seddon, as development partners, work with the community and Barchester to build a caring environment for residents at the same time as creating employment opportunities for young people starting on the construction career ladder. It’s a project we are very proud to have been a part of.”

Braeburn Lodge care home, in Deeping St James, will be the next Barchester care home to open this year.
