3 Charities Receive Bumper Donation from the National Lottery Community Fund

Three charities have received a grant of £440,571 to enable them to support and care for older people.

MHA, Father Hudson’s Care and The Beth Johnson Foundation are the recipients of the grant from The National Lottery Community Fund.

The project, titled Even Better Together, is a partnership between the three charities who each have extensive experience providing care and support to older people.

This grant will provide services, activities and support which improve the lives of older people in their community. It will give them a voice and a choice in co-producing and co-delivering activities and projects that they want To take part in.

By working together as a partnership they will provide support services to a greater number of older people across Stoke, Newcastle under Lyme and the Staffordshire Moorlands.

There was a launch event to celebrate the culmination, which was attended by representatives from each organisation and Tom Pine, the National Lottery’s Funding Officer for the North.

He said: “This project is a wonderful opportunity for National Lottery players to continue supporting what has become a real lifeline for older people in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire.

“The National Lottery Community Fund is delighted that MHA, Father Hudson’s Care and Beth Johnson Foundation will be able to continue their support for this community over the next three years.”

“It was great to attend the launch of three charities coming together and supporting older people in making sure they are providing a support service for them.

“The services provided by the three organisations complement each other and provide an opportunity to learn how different models and skills could work inside each partner organisation.

“Here at MHA, we are very proud to be a part of this, we hope the partnership continues and we are able to work together in making sure older people are looked after.”
