Vida Healthcare Triumphs At Care Awards
Dementia care specialist Vida Healthcare is celebrating after winning two awards at the Great British Care Awards.
The Awards are a series of regional events held throughout the UK and celebrate excellence across the care sector. The awards are designed to pay tribute to organisations and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievements within their field of work.
Sharon Oldfield has won the Frontline Leader Award, and Nicola Dodds the Dementia Carer Award. Vida Healthcare was shortlisted for a total of 11 awards including Care Employer, Workforce Development, and Good Nurse Award.
The winners were announced at a ceremony in the National Railway Museum, York on 21 July 2021.
Sharon Oldfield, Home Manager at Vida Healthcare, said: “It means a lot to be nominated by the board and recognised at the Awards. 2021 has been a challenging year for all of us involved in social care as we continue to cope with the effects of the pandemic, so it’s brilliant to have an event like this which celebrates our hard work and dedication to the people that we care for.
“While the award win is fantastic, my main priority is the wonderful residents at Vida Healthcare and making sure that we continue to deliver the care and support they need to live high quality and enriched lives.”
Founded in 2010, Vida Healthcare was established to transform the provision of dementia care. It offers specialist accommodation and full-time care for people living with dementia, and recently joined the top four per cent of adult social care services after securing Care Quality Commission Outstanding ratings for both its homes.
James Rycroft, Managing Director at Vida Healthcare, added: “We wanted to take this opportunity to recognise our incredible and hardworking staff who go above and beyond in their daily duties. The commitment they’ve shown to Vida and our residents over the past few pressured months has enabled us to continue providing exceptional dementia care to our residents and keeping their families connected to daily life while they’re unable to visit.
“The award wins are well deserved and everyone across our homes; Vida Grange and Vida Hall; are thrilled that their team members have been recognised at such a prestigious event.”
