Valentine’s Love And Laughter At Watford Nursing Home

Residents at The Case Care Centre in Watford have enjoyed a day of Valentine’s-themed fun with a special party full of activities and entertainment.

On Friday 14th, staff at the home, which provides residential and nursing care for up to 110 people, many of whom live with dementia, organised a full day of Valentine’s activities, designed to lift spirits and celebrate friendships.

Residents enjoyed live music in a Sing-a-Long with Natalie, who was also joined at the mic by the Chase’s very own Chef, Eduardo. Residents made cards and gifts for each other and took part in chair and mobile dancing.  A beautiful buffet of Valentine’s chocolates, cakes and drinks was enjoyed by all and residents made fruit sticks.

Activities lead Nazanin Maanikhah explains, “Valentine’s Day is a time to celebrate love and companionship and is perfect for lifting spirits, but it can also be a time in which older people feel lonely and isolated.

“We wanted to make sure this wasn’t the case for anyone at The Chase, so we created a day full of happiness, energy and positivity.  Our residents enjoyed sharing memories of Valentine’s Days over the years and had a great time making cards and gifts and enjoying the music.”
