Tribute Band Joy At Care Home

tributeResidents, families and the team at The New Deanery and St Mary’s Court care homes, near Braintree, took advantage of great weather and their extensive grounds to dance through the decades thanks to music from multi tribute act Recollections.

It is not the first time the act has played at the home – it has proved so popular with residents that the activities team asked them back and they were not disappointed.

Head of Activities Jo Crosby said: “The entertainers kept getting changed behind the stage and returning to the microphone as a completely different star!

“First we saw Frank Sinatra, then Marilyn Monroe, Robbie Williams and many other acts in between before the show ended with Amy Winehouse.

“It really was wonderful to see so many residents and relatives enjoying themselves.”

Phil Whitehead, whose father Malcolm Whitehead is a resident at St Mary’s, said: “The activities team provided another lovely well-organised entertaining music event in the grounds of the care home.

“All residents had huge smiles on their faces and were singing and dancing along to the many performances. Staff were on hand to dance and aid the residents with anything and everything that they needed in order to feel comfortable and enjoy the activity.”
