Surrey Care Home Retains Investors In People Gold Accreditation for Exceptional Team Support and Development

Nellsar Group’s flagship care home in Woking, Surrey is celebrating the prestigious Investors in People (IIP) Gold accreditation – a recognition proudly held since 2016, for its outstanding commitment to team support and development.

Of the UK’s 16,566 Care Homes, only 15 have achieved IIP Gold accreditation so far this year and Princess Christian Care Centre, has now received the IIP Gold 3 Year Accreditation for the fourth time. This makes it part of an elite group and represents a truly unique honour that is recognised across the globe.

Investors in People is one of the world’s leading bodies for workplace assessment, having accredited more than 50,000 organisations over the last 30 years. Using its We Invest in People Framework, IIP works to improve working cultures, boost communication, increase employee engagement and nurture leadership.

The IIP framework is built around 27 criteria across nine indicators, each with three progressive themes – Developed to Established, then Advanced and finally High Performing. To receive Gold accreditation, an organisation must meet all criteria and demonstrate at least seven of the nine indicators at the Advanced level. This rigorous standard reflects strong workplace culture, core capabilities and effective structures.

Commenting on the achievement, Mario Taherian, Registered Manager at Princess Christian Care Centre, said: “I am delighted that Princess Christian Care Centre has once again been reaccredited with this esteemed honour. Fewer than 1% of UK Care Homes have received such recognition, and in 2025, only nine ten-thousandths of a percent (0.0009%) have achieved IIP Gold status again.

“To have maintained this accreditation since 2016 is something we are all immensely proud of. There is no greater recognition of our commitment to excellence in team development – a core value at the heart of Nellsar.”

Today, the IIP community represents over 1.2 million people. Each year, the organisation partners with around 4,000 employers across a wide range of industries to help make work better. Currently, only 31% of IIP-accredited organisations hold a Gold level accreditation, a mark of distinction for those who go above and beyond for their people.

Of the 250 organisations worldwide to receive Gold in 2025, just 6% were Care Homes and Princess Christian is among only 15 to receive the recognition in the UK this year.
