Staff At York Business Turn Pink To Support Cancer Charity

The staff team at Danshell Group’s central support office in York have raised more than £200 for ‘Breast Cancer Now’.

The team rose to the challenge by organising a brilliant range of fundraising events.

Everyone got in the spirit of the day by wearing pink, even the Chief Executive’s dogs, who were visiting for the day. The team paid £1 each for wearing pink, held a raffle, staged a quiz with pink themed-answers, had a Guess Who competition where the team had to be identified from their baby photos and sold tea, coffee and cakes. Colleague Annie joined in with a competition to guess if her baby, due soon, will be a boy or a girl. It turned out to be blue rather than pink!

Mel Ramsey, Chief Executive of Danshell Group, said: “The ethos of our business is providing a caring environment for the people we support, with staff also keen to extend this attitude to the wider community by supporting worthy causes like this one.

“It was great to see how our central support office team got so involved in organising a fun fundraising day. ‘Breast Cancer Now’ is a fantastic charity that does vital research work as well as raising awareness and we are proud to support them.”

Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, created by the merger of Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Danshell support and cares for adults with a learning disability or autism in specialist hospitals and residential services, both with and without nursing.
