Social Care Charity Host Event At Tate Liverpool
“Creativity and Culture in Dementia Care”, the insightful one-day event, illustrated the positive effect of embedding arts and sports in the care sector.
The audience, which included commissioners from across the Liverpool City Region, housing associations and Activity Coordinators, were treated to best practice examples of utilising arts, sports and community engagement to promote the health and happiness of people living with dementia.
Hosted and curated by Community Integrated Care, the day featured a range of engaging presentations and workshops from Age Exchange, the national pioneers of arts and reminiscence in dementia care, along with local rugby club Widnes Vikings.
The informative workshops were able to illustrate how local sports organisations can come together with social care providers to combat social loneliness and become embedded within the community.
Social care charity, Community Integrated Care which was founded in the Liverpool City Region, hosted the day celebrating creativity in the care sector at the prestigious Tate gallery in Liverpool.
“It is fantastic to see so many people from the field of social care come together at such as prestigious venue” said Phil Benson, Service Manager at Community Integrated Care. He continued, “Thank you to Open Eye Gallery for this valuable opportunity to share ideas on best practice in social care.”
Rebecca Blackwood CEO of Age Exchange, the national pioneers of arts and reminiscence in dementia care, commented on the success of the event saying, “It was a fascinating day sharing ideas and collaborating with a range of different people about how we can really improve the lives of people living with dementia.”
