Penarth Home Hosts Christmas Fair and Raise More Than £1000 to Support Amenity Fund

A Penarth home managed to raise more than £1000 for their Christmas fair in support of the homes amenity fund.

MHA Morel Court organised a Christmas fair and invited family members of residents and staff members to be a part of the event.

There were plenty of stalls and fundraising methods throughout the day including a perfume, clothes and sweet stall.

There was also a silent auction, with a Denby tea set fetching more than £150.00 towards the final amount of £1060.00.

The home offers 36 places for residential care and will use the funds towards the homes amenity fund, used for trips and activities for the residents

June Mansell, community coordinator said:
“Seeing the steady flow of people throughout the day was lovely to see.

“Things have been tough for a lot of people so seeing them come in numbers to support the cause was surprising but amazing at the same time

“Family members and volunteers got stuck in and supported the rest of us which was very nice of them.

“Some of them took charge of the stalls and it was a great community event and one that put a smile on a lot of people’s faces.

“The residents had a lot of fun, everyone was in good spirits and it’s just what you want from a Christmas fair.

“To reach the amount we did in only four hours is a great testament to the support shown to the home by family members, staff and volunteers.

“We will make sure the funds allocated will go towards whatever it is the residents want to do and I am looking forward to seeing how we use the funds.”
