Park View Care Home Steps Up for The Wellbeing Walk of Essex
Park View Care Home located in Witham recently participated in the Wellbeing Walk of Essex, organised in collaboration with the Prosper Team.
This initiative aimed to achieve a collective 350-mile target, equivalent to walking the coastline of Essex, and involved the Runwood Homes group across the region.
From the 13th to 17th of May 2024, care homes throughout Essex joined forces to contribute miles towards this ambitious goal. At Park View Care Home, on the 16th of May, three dedicated staff members took up the challenge with enthusiasm and determination. Diane Anderson, the Wellbeing Lead; Charlene, a Domestic; and Paul, the Handyman, embarked on a walk from Park View to Hatfield Peverel Lodge and back, totaling approximately 7 miles.
Despite the rainy weather, the trio persevered, demonstrating their commitment to promoting physical and mental wellbeing within their community. Diane Anderson, the Wellbeing Lead at Park View, expressed her thoughts on the experience:
“We walked the whole way there and back in the rain, but it was really worth it. The lovely welcome we got from the Bupa Home at Hatfield Peverel Lodge was amazing. They made us hot drinks, laid on a delicious spread of food, and gave us a lovely tour.”
While the residents of Park View Care Home were unable to join the walk physically, they actively participated by logging miles on their pedal bikes throughout the week. This collaborative effort not only supported the Prosper Team’s initiative but also fostered a sense of community and shared purpose among the residents and staff.
