Northumberland Care Home Staff Go The Extra Mile For Residents

Members of staff at Debaliol Nursing Home, which is part of care home operator Bondcare and is based in Newbiggin by the Sea, Northumberland, are pulling on their hiking boots to raise funds for the British Red Cross and for extra treats for the home’s residents.

Sixteen members of staff, including the home Manager, Julia Rose, will tackle a 13 mile sponsored coastal walk from Amble to Newbiggin, donating funds raised to the British Red Cross and for additional summer outings for the residents.

Based on Woodhorn Road, in Newbiggin by the Sea, Debaliol Nursing Home provides residential and nursing care for 56 elderly residents. All bedrooms are en-suite and the home has two day lounges, two dining rooms and private gardens and patio areas for residents and their visitors to enjoy.

Debaliol Nursing Home is part of the Bondcare Group and aims to maintain lifestyles as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home, with an extensive range of activities which individuals can enjoy and benefit from.

Julia Rose, Debaliol Nursing Home Manager, said: “We always like to support charities and go the extra mile for our residents, so we’re looking forward to raising funds for the British Red Cross and for additional treats for our residents to enjoy this summer. Staff have been training hard for the walk and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that the weather will be fine!”
