
Leigh Care Home Win Two Awards At Wigan Borough Palliative And End Of Life Care Awards

Two managers at HC-One’s Richmond House care home in Leigh, Lancashire, were crowned winners at the Wigan Borough Palliative and End of Life Care Awards.
Richmond House won Home of the Year award while Lorraine Scholey, Home Manager, won a ‘Special Recognition’ award and Dean Bent won the ‘Deputy Manager of the Year’ award. The awards ceremony took place on Friday, October 11 at Leigh Sports Village in Leigh, Greater Manchester.
This event showcases and celebrates all of the hardworking healthcare professionals in the Wigan borough, who go above and beyond to make a difference to the people they care for at the end of life.
In total, Richmond House were shortlisted for five awards this year, and were over the moon with the following nominations:
Richmond House – Home of the Year
Katie McGuire – Nursing Assistant of the Year
Lynn Bradbury – Family Nominated Award
Dean Bent – Deputy Manager of the Year
Lorraine Scholey – Special Recognition Award
Commenting on her win, Richmond House Home Manager Lorraine Scholey said:
“I was so pleased to win this award, I have dedicated the last 30 years of my career to Richmond House so to receive recognition for this was just so overwhelming.”
Dean Bent, Deputy Home Manager at Richmond House, stated:
“I was thrilled to win this award for a second time, the evening was a great success celebrating everyone’s hard work and dedication across the Wigan borough.”
