Hill Care Cake Sale Adds To Alzheimer’s Society Fundraising
A CHESTERFIELD care home group has raised over £200 selling cupcakes to neighbouring businesses – with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer’s Society.
The sale was part of a year-long fundraising campaign by the Hill Care Group, whose head office is on St Mary’s Gate.
The group’s homes across the north of England have so far helped to raise over £4,500 for dementia support and research.
The campaign will culminate in a 330-mile cycle ride from London to Paris by Hill Care managing director Wendy Waddicor.
Wendy, who went door-to-door in Chesterfield selling the cupcakes, will undertake her sponsored cycling challenge in July.
She will spend four days travelling between the capital cities entirely under her own pedal power.
Wendy said: “The cupcake sale proved a huge success. I had no idea how many we’d sell but it’s safe to say Chesterfield office workers enjoy a sweet treat as much as the next town!
“Everyone at Hill Care has been working really hard to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society, which is a charity close to all our hearts, as many of our homes offer specialist dementia care.
“I’m so grateful for the support ahead of my cycling challenge in just a few weeks’ time. I’m still taking donations and would be hugely grateful to anyone who can spare a few pounds.”
