Herefordshire Care Homes Host Heartwarming Harvest Festival Celebration

Rotherwood Care Homes opened their to the community on Friday, 29th September 2023, for a splendid Harvest Festival. Residents, families, and the broader community gathered at Hampton Grange and Gwen Walford in Hereford, Lynhales Hall in Lyonshall, and Kington Court in Kington to embrace the vibrant spirit of autumn.

The Harvest Festival, a much-anticipated event, started in the morning and continued throughout the day. Attendees were greeted with warm smiles and a festive atmosphere. The homes were adorned with colourful decorations, setting the perfect backdrop for a day of unity, joy, and shared celebration.

All homes hosted vibrant church services steeped in the essence of harvest, featuring soul-stirring hymns and readings. The festivities weren’t just auditory delights; guests had the pleasure of indulging in a culinary journey inspired by the harvest season. Harvest-inspired culinary delights were served to evoke the true essence of autumn. Kington Court welcomed the cheerful presence of Little Orchard Nursery, adding youthful exuberance to the celebrations. They also hosted an engaging harvest quiz, where participants showcased their knowledge and wit to win coveted potted Cyclamen plants. To add a touch of local flavour, Lynhales indulged in a cider-tasting experience, graciously provided by Gwatkin’s House of Cider, making the event even more memorable.

In a demonstration of our commitment to supporting the local community, each of our homes collected donations for local food banks. These contributions were presented to food bank representatives, who expressed their gratitude for the difference these donations will make.
