Four OSJCT Care Employees Reach LinCA Care Awards Final

Four finalists from Lincolnshire care homes run by The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) will be attending the Lincolnshire Care Association (LinCA) Care Awards event on 30 March 2023 at The Double Tree by Hilton, Lincoln.

Chris Donner, Chef at Hartsholme House in Lincoln, is a Care Home Chef finalist. Chris has clocked up 25 years’ service at OSJCT, having originally joined Boultham Park House, and then worked at Hartsholme House for the last 13 years. Chris said: “I am delighted to reach these award finals. I thoroughly enjoy my job, getting to know our residents, tailoring menus for them, and learning from my colleagues. I am especially enthusiastic about cooking dishes from scratch.”

Rachel Kelman, Head of Care at Southfield House in Spalding, is a finalist in the Frontline Leader category. Rachel has worked at OSJCT since 2009. Rachel said: “It is such an honour to be nominated, let alone shortlisted for this award. I love what I do, it never feels like coming to work. I have a great team behind me that I am really proud to lead.”

Paula West, a Care Leader at Whitefriars care home in Stamford, is a finalist in the Frontline Leader category. She has worked at OSJCT since 2018. Paula said: “I am delighted to be nominated for this award. I am absolutely passionate about my job. My family and friends are proud of what I do and applaud my approach to dispelling indifference and ignorance towards those living with dementia.”

Rebecca Satheeskumar, a Carer at Gregory House in Grantham, is a finalist in the Residential Care category. She has worked at OSJCT since 2018. Rebecca said: “I am honoured to have been nominated for this award and represent the wonderful team at Gregory House. Caring is all I have ever wanted to do. I love being a Carer. Being able to make a difference to other peoples’ lives gives me a great sense of satisfaction.”
