Flamingo-Themed Fete Puts Care Home ‘In The Pink’

pearlA care home’s flamingo-themed, summer fete raised £500 for the charities HOPe and Cat & Kitten Rescue of Lymington.

The event, at Colten Care’s outstanding rated Kingfishers in New Milton, featured a residents’ stall, a raffle, a cake sale, tombola and garden games, plus musical entertainment from local singer Cassie Lawrence.

Local retailers also joined in the fun, with Angela’s Craft Hut, Busy Bee Products Ltd, Gems Sparkles & Beads by Cass Searson and Creative Vases by Patricia Law, also exhibiting.

Kingfishers Companion Team Leader Rose Arcellana, said: “It was a beautiful day, full of fun, with lots of visitors.

“We were thrilled when we realised we had raised so much for HOPe (Helping Older People in the New Forest), which supports older people, particularly those who are isolated or vulnerable, and Cat & Kitten Rescue, which are our residents’ chosen charities of the year.”
