Dr Sara Kayat, Attends Grand Opening Event Of Sanders Senior Living Care Home

Sanders Senior Living care home hosted an official grand opening event earlier this month attended by TV Dr, Sara Kayat.

The glamorous 1920’s inspired event, with entertainment provided by live band, The Gatsbys, was attended by hundreds of people, including members of the public, health and social care industry professionals, as well as other officials and partners linked to the brand-new Solihull care home, situated in the village of Olton.

Dr Sara Kayat, best known for her TV appearances on GP’s; Behind Closed Doors and a regular medical expert on ITV’s This Morning, was invited to attend the home’s opening and provided an engaging, insightful talk about looking after our health and wellbeing as we grow older. Dr Sara commented, “Remaining independent does not have to be synonymous with remaining in one’s home. Done well, a care home enables social interaction, participation, independence, and builds on self-esteem. It should encourage an environment that remind us that ageing is a privilege and not a predicament.”

Suitably hosted with complimentary  20’s themed food and cocktails organised by the chef and team at the home,  guests enjoyed guided tours of Claridge Place, showcasing the large suites, library, cinema, private dining, bistro, lounge, café, salon and spa.

Home Manager, Clair Gurteen, said of the event, “It was an absolute joy to officially open Claridge Place. The home is beautiful, a stunning place for older people to live and I am pleased to have the most amazing team of people working here beside me to deliver high quality care and lifestyle choices. We have been overwhelmed with the number of people who have expressed an interest in living and working with us.”

Taking part in the ribbon cutting ceremony was the home’s first permanent resident, Maria Pinto, aged 93, who made a well received, unplanned speech of how welcomed and happy she felt in her new home.

Director of Commissioning and Premium Services, Peta Mandleberg, commented, “It has been extremely exciting to open the second in the collection of Sanders Senior Living homes. The quality of these homes is second to none and Claridge Place really raises the bar for older living in Solihull. We look forward to welcoming many more people into Claridge Place.
