Devonshire Dementia Care Home Celebrates Double Honour

Staff at Devonshire Dementia Care Home & Day Centre have cause for celebration after a remarkable evening at the Royal Borough of Kingston Council offices on 10th March, where two of their own were honoured at the borough’s care awards — presented by the local Mayor.

Yvette claimed first prize and Ashly earned second prize in what proved to be a deeply competitive field. What makes the recognition all the more meaningful is that nominees were selected by fellow care staff from across all care homes in the borough — a true peer-to-peer acknowledgement of excellence. From an outstanding 350 nominations received, Devonshire also took home the best team award, a remarkable testament to the collective spirit that defines the home’s approach to care.

The awards reflect values that sit at the heart of Devonshire’s ethos. As their motto puts it: “Small changes in care make a huge difference to wellbeing.”

Care Home Manager Smith paid tribute to both recipients: “Well done, Yvette and Ashly. I am so proud of you both! You are such wonderful assets to the team and I’m so glad to see you both thriving.”
