Home Manager Lisa Robins (C) with her colleagues and some residents at MHA Pennystone Court

A home manager at a Blackpool home was all smiles following her success at winning a national award.

Lisa Robins, home manager at MHA Pennystone Court was awarded the Best Dementia Care Home Manager at the Dementia Care Awards 2024.

Lisa was shortlisted along with nine other home managers across the country.

She was the only MHA home manager nominated and it’s not the first time she has received winners status at these awards, as her home, MHA Pennystone Court won the Best Dementia Care Home at the same awards ceremony in 2022.

MHA Pennystone Court offers 36 places for dementia and residential care.

Following the award ceremony, Lisa took the award back to the home, where she shared the award with residents and staff and was also presented with some flowers.

She said: “It’s a very prestigious award to win, especially as it’s a national award, so I am very proud on a personal note.

“The award is as much as mine as it is the residents, staff and everyone connected to the home.

“To even be shortlisted is a massive achievement, so I feel very honoured, and it was a special feeling picking the award up.

“In the lead up there was a lot of support from my colleagues, residents and their family members.

“Winning the award is not the be all and end all, nothing changes, and we keep on providing the best services to everyone at the home.

“My favourite part was bringing it home and sharing it with everyone and I could see how proud everyone was.”
