Combined Service Of 35 Years For Four Staff Members At Derby Home

Four staff members at a Derby home were recognised for their long service which is a total of 35 years between them.

Julie Taylor, Margaret Cox, Dawn Camley and Chantelle Roe all work at MHA Willowcroft and were presented with a certificate to mark the occasion.

Julie, Chantelle and Margaret have all been at the home for 10 years, whilst Dawn has been there for 5.

MHA Willowcroft  is a 60-place residential and dementia care home and has two wings providing 30 residential places and 30 places for dementia care.

Speaking after the presentation Julie said: “ I’m very proud of being a part of Willowcroft and have never looked back.

“I will not move my job unless they tell me too. I’m so settled love my job.

“The management staff are brilliant, they are very understanding and support you all the way.

“To work in care, you need to have dignity and respect and treat people like you would want to be treated. It’s not an easy job.”

Dawn feels this will be her last job before she retires and said: “The thing that has kept me here is my work colleagues first and foremost, and that the wellbeing of all residents is important to everyone.

“I have no plans to move on, I am happy with my shifts and it will definitely be my last place of work till I retire.”

Margaret added: “ I feel proud and good that I’ve been at MHA for 10 years and served and gave my support and my knowledge

“It’s like having a large family the support and help we give each other but there is sadness when we lose a resident or a member of staff

Chantelle said: “I get on with everybody at Willowcroft, I enjoy being in charge, I work with a great team of people, I see myself staying at Willowcroft

“10 years have flown by & I still enjoy working at Willowcroft.

“I feel as long as you’re a kind, understanding and patient person you will do well in social care”
