Care Home Occupancy And Staff Retention On The Agenda At Free Webinar For Social Care Professionals

Care home professionals can learn from leaders in the sector about how state-of-the-art digital software and innovative technology can improve their businesses and make them stronger for the post-COVID future at a free online event next month.

The free-to-attend ‘Care home occupancy and staff retention: can technology be the key?’ webinar is on Wednesday 17 March 2021 from 1pm.

It brings together the founders of the Care Home of the Future who are amongst the UK’s leading social care technology providers – Ascom UK, ATLAS eMAR, PainChek and Person Centred Software – for a panel debate with care providers from the sector to examine how integrated, best-in-class technology can help drive care home occupancy levels and increase retention of carers and staff.

Guest panellists are Andrew and Carole Geach, CEOs of Shedfield Lodge Residential Care Home; Anita Astle MBE, owner of Wren Hall Nursing Home – both single-site, specialist dementia care facilities – and Helen Davies-Parsons, CEO of luxury care home group Dormy Care.

The debate will be chaired by Drew Hunt of PainChek, who explains: “Digital services are proven to increase the cost-effectiveness of care, improve outcomes and help with staff performance and retention. Technology can also serve as a sustainable tool to help care home owners to address concerns about future business viability.

“As well as digitising care planning processes and evidencing care, innovative technology is an important tool for staff retention and engagement that empowers carers, lifts their administrative burden and allows them to closely monitor residents’ wellbeing. These benefits all help to support the delivery of the highest possible standards of care.

“Next month’s webinar will give professionals working across social care the chance to hear the ideas, experiences and learnings of three care home sector leaders, and learn how they can maximise the benefits technology has to offer from effectively placing digital tech at the heart of their own care operations and delivery.”

Webinar panellist Anita Astle MBE adds: “‘Wren Hall Nursing Home has embraced the use of digital technology since 1991. The impact of this has never been greater than over the past year with the emergence of a digital ecosystem. We now have families able to access contemporaneous information about their loved ones and have digital technologies working together, including care planning software, nurse call, pain assessment software and medication management software.”
