Care Group Kicks Off New Football Sponsorship

Saint Cecilia’s Care Group is kicking off a new sponsorship deal with Scarborough Athletic to enable fans in wheelchairs to get a great view of the match.

The Scarborough-based care provider is sponsoring the newly-expanded wheelchair area at the football club’s ground.

This will enable a dozen wheelchair users to have a great view of Boro’s home games.

Saint Cecilia’s Director Aaron Padgham said: “We are absolutely delighted to be continuing our ongoing support for the football club by sponsoring the wheelchair area and to help make sport as accessible as possible to the local community.

“The newly-expanded area provides an excellent opportunity for those in wheelchairs and their carers to fully enjoy all the action at the game and we know it will be greatly appreciated by those who will use it.”

Boro chairman Trevor Bull said: “We would like to thank Saint Cecilia’s as sponsor of the new enlarged wheelchair spacing at the top of the main stand.

“This has increased the wheelchair facility from four spaces to 12. As a club we feel that it is important that watching sport is accessible to all, so Saint Cecilia’s support with this is invaluable.

“Of the 12 spaces, eight are available for our league matches, so anyone wishing to book a space can do so through our club secretary Jack Fewster.”

The sponsorship continues a long-standing relationship between the care group and local sport. It has been a long-standing supporter of local football and this season is also supporting Scarborough Cricket Club. It has also been a sponsor with Scarborough Rugby Union Football Club and later this year will be supporting Scarborough Athletic Club.

Mr Padgham added: “We are delighted to support local sport both for the benefit it plays in the local community and as a great way of keeping the body and mind fit for later life.”
