British Actor Vicky McClure Walking in Memory of Her Beloved Grandmother

Bafta-winning actor Vicky McClure will join hundreds of people going the extra mile to support people affected by dementia at Alzheimer’s Society’s Nottingham Memory Walk on Saturday 10 September 2022.

2022 will be Vicky’s 12th year taking part in Memory Walk in remembrance of her beloved grandmother Iris, who lived with dementia before she died in 2015.

The Line of Duty star will be taking on the 2km stroll rambling round Wollaton Hall’s tranquil lake.

Vicky has taken part in 11 Memory Walks so far – and 2022 will be her 12th event.

Vicky, who is an Alzheimer’s Society Ambassador, will be one of many walking to take a stand against dementia.
Money raised will go towards Alzheimer’s Society’s vital services, including its Dementia Connect support line, helping people affected by dementia through some of the hardest and most frightening times.

In preparation for her Memory Walk, Vicky McClure said:
‘Memory walk holds a special place in my heart, and I always look forward to the uplifting atmosphere on the day – and seeing lots of adorable dogs!

It’s so inspiring to walk alongside people from all ages and different backgrounds striving to stop dementia in its tracks.

‘I’ve seen first-hand the challenges families go through when their loved one has dementia, but there is help out there. This is why events like Memory Walk are crucial to help charities like Alzheimer’s Society continue supporting as many people as possible.’
