Blenheim Court Care Home Recognised as ‘Highly Commended’ by Leading Care Awards
Caring Homes’ Blenheim Court Care Home has recently won the “Highly Commended” category at the NAPA Awards.
To mark the 70th year of Queen Elizabeth’s reign, NAPA, the UK’s leading activity and engagement charity, created The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Care Setting of The Year Challenge, to recognise and reward care services who went above and beyond to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee.
Taking part in the challenge, Blenheim Court won the “Highly Commended” category for its outstanding efforts and dedication over the bank holiday weekend.
With the NAPA Awards only normally rewarding first place, the judges felt touched by the efforts made by Blenheim Court and saw them invent a “Highly Commended” category just for the home.
The judges said:
“We felt the need to create a “Highly Commended” category to acknowledge the wonderful work of Blenheim Court, among the hundreds of entries this one really did shine. Of particular note was the teamwork demonstrated by all involved. Congratulations!”
Caring Homes’ Blenheim Court, home manager, Samantha Booty, said:
“When we received the phone call we were overjoyed. Although we had not won the overall main prize of £1000, we had been awarded an additional prize and we were just as ecstatic to have received a “Highly Recommended” certificate.
“We know how difficult the selection process is for such awards and to receive the ‘additional award’ was special to us all. The news of the award quickly spread around the home and the company with many congratulations heading our way.
“The award was seen as extremely positive and a reward for the continuous effort everyone in the home makes towards improving the wellbeing of our residents. The prize will definitely be utilised to enhance all the activities for the residents over the coming months and we are already looking forward to that special time at the end of the year.”
To celebrate the amazing achievement, the home will be holding their very own themed Friday Social this week. Throughout the event, the home will be shining a light on those who made the event a success and will come together to raise a glass to NAPA, residents, relatives and friends and the team who worked tirelessly over the Jubilee weekend.
