Billingham Care Home Spreads Some Festive Joy

Allington House care home is spreading some Christmas joy with its festive fundraisers.

Members of staff had a ‘Christmas jumper day’ and wore their jolly woolly jumpers, for a donation made to TFM’s Cash for Kids.

The home also raised more than £400 for extra treats for its residents when it opened its doors for a community Christmas fete, which had various stalls selling cakes, bric and brac and books and crafts, as well as a tombola and refreshments.

Based on Marsh House Avenue, Allington House, which is part of the Bondcare Group, provides nursing and residential care for up to 46 residents, including the elderly, young adults and those diagnosed with dementia.

Geraldine Wilson, Manager at Allington House, said: “We have really got into the festive spirit at Allington House and raised lots of money for worthy causes. Christmas is a magical time and we like to make it as special as possible for our residents with lots of fun activities and fundraisers.

“It was great to have lots of members of our local community at the home for our Christmas fete and was fantastic to see our members of staff in an array of wonderful woolly jumpers, which the residents found very entertaining.”
