Berkshire Care Association Celebrates Excellence In Care At The BCA Care Awards 2024

Berkshire Care Association (BCA) hosted its inaugural Care Awards at Cantley House hotel in Wokingham last week, recognising the outstanding compassion and commitment displayed by individuals and teams working in the Adult Social Care sector across Berkshire.

The Awards were presented by Olympic Bronze boxing medallist, Hassan Azim; James Sunderland MP for Bracknell; Kevin McDaniel, Executive Director of Adult Services, Health and Communities Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) and Lynne Lidster, Director of Commissioning for RBWM Optalis from Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Irina Stanciu of Langley Haven Care Home, pictured above with Hassan Azim was awarded the Care Home Worker Award.

The awards ceremony spotlighted the outstanding achievements of 25 individuals across 11 categories. Candidates were shortlisted from over 150 entries across 30 services providing care in care homes, homecare and learning disability services. Colleagues came from across the county to join in the celebrations.

The BCA Care Awards not only recognised individual achievements but also served as a catalyst for continuous improvement and innovation within the Adult Social Care sector by awarding 8 care services with the Care Service Recognition Award.

The Chair of the BCA Board, Peter Lomax, commented “by recognising and honouring excellence, BCA aims to inspire and empower caregivers to continue to fulfil their roles with the dedication and passion so well demonstrated at the Awards”.
