Ascot Grange Tours Signature Homes On 12 Hour Bike Ride in Support of Ukraine

Signature at Ascot Grange have undergone a 12-hour virtual cycle ride, including a tour of their neighbouring Signature Senior Lifestyle homes, in order to raise money for the DEC Ukraine Appeal.

From 6am until 6pm, team members at the Care Home in Berkshire shared a 120-mile journey by cycling to Pembroke and then Camberley, followed by virtual drop ins at Wimbledon, Wandsworth, Farnham Common and Sonning, before returning home to Ascot Grange.

Those involved on the cycle virtually met with at least one team member at every Signature Senior Lifestyle home visited, where a pin badge will be presented to mark the occasion and their visit.

The final donation figure sent to the DEC Ukraine appeal amounted to £685.00, with an additional £141.00 in gift aid.

More than a million people make up those most in need, having fled their homes to escape ongoing and escalating domestic conflicts. DEC charities and their local partners are on the ground in Ukraine and its neighbouring countries, providing support, shelter and essential medical assistance at all times – often in life threatening situations.

Gill Bonham, Client Liaison Manager at Signature at Ascot Grange, said:

“I am so proud of everyone here at Ascot Grange, and our collective efforts to raise money in aid of the DEC Ukraine appeal. Thank you to all of those who donated, as well as the business partners, friends, families and residents who took their turn on the bike and helped us reach our goal. We had beat our £200 target by lunchtime!”

Kay Cox, Chief Operating Officer of Signature Senior Living, said:
“We have a number of Signature Residents in our homes who have themselves directly experienced conflict during their lifetime and its tragic consequences. It is therefore inspiring to see our Residents supporting people who they will likely never get the chance to meet, including those that are currently being impacted by the extremely difficult situation the world is seeing unfold in Ukraine.

“At Signature, we believe gestures such as the one from Ascot Grange can bring comfort to those experiencing such desperate circumstances. We continue to support people in need, whether they are within our communities or beyond.”
