Anchor Partner With The King’s Fund For Conference On Enhancing Health In Care

Anchor LogoInfluential health charity The King’s Fund is partnering with Anchor for a major conference on enhancing health in care homes.

Anchor Chief Executive Jane Ashcroft CBE will join speakers from the NHS, the Care Quality Commission and Care England for the event on Thursday 2 July at The King’s Fund in central London. The event will focus on how the NHS can work with providers and commissioners of adult social care to develop integrated systems of care and support.

The partnership follows the publication of a report by Anchor and the local government think-tank Localis on how to better integrate health, housing and social care. The report, published in February, included an enhanced assessment scheme which Anchor piloted in partnership with Birmingham City Council and Birmingham CrossCity Clinical Commissioning Group.

Jane Ashcroft said: “The few inspiring examples of integration dotted around the country demonstrate it is achievable, and essential to avoid the kind of NHS crisis seen earlier this year. This event is an excellent opportunity to look at how local areas can join up services for people living in care homes.”

Delegates will hear from the following key speakers:

  • Jane Ashcroft CBE, Chief Executive, Anchor Trust
  • Professor Martin Green OBE, Chief Executive, Care England
  • Samantha Jones, Director for New Models of Care, NHS England
  • Des Kelly OBE, Executive Director, National Care Forum
  • Professor David Oliver, President, British Geriatrics Society
  • Andrea Sutcliffe, Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care, Care Quality Commission
  • Frank Ursell, Chief Executive, Registered Nursing Home Association
