Accolades for Cornwall Care Home Provider
Cornish care home company Swallowcourt was honoured with not one but two accolades last Friday night at the Outstanding Care Awards for Devon and Cornwall. During the awards ceremony the team were presented with the Employer of the Year Award and were further elated at the end of the evening to find out that they had also been judged winners of the Special Category Award which is given to the person or organisation who overall has made the most significant contribution to Health and Social Care during the year.
The Outstanding Care Awards for Devon and Cornwall celebrate the exceptional care and best practice across the two counties. Twenty one different award categories receive hundreds of nominations from people and services in the NHS, charities, volunteer groups and commercial businesses.
Colleagues from Swallowcourt who attended the Black-Tie Event held in Torquay received both awards in recognition of the efforts of over 400 staff working across Swallowcourt’s six Care Homes in the South West of the County, caring for over 200 residents.
In respect of the Employer of the Year Award, the comments from the judges referred to the organisations’ approach to not only providing outstanding care for residents but also ensuring staff were nurtured and supported in their roles together with a commitment to personal and professional development.
Leah Marsh, Director for Swallowcourt, commented “The recognition from the professional judging panel in making these awards fills us with pride because it is a testament to the hard work and dedication of a truly amazing workforce and reinforces our reputation as an employer of choice within the Health and Social Care Sector.”
