Zoo Visit For Widnes Care Home Residents
A ROARING good time was had by elderly Widnes residents when they took a trip to Chester Zoo.
A dozen residents and staff from Halton View Care Home, on Sadler Street, enjoyed the day trip to see the animals.
The aquarium particularly peaked their interests – with residents now keen to get a fish tank of their own at the home.
Abigail Murphy, activities coordinator for Halton View Care Home, said: “Everyone had a lovely time visiting Chester Zoo. It’s always a great day trip and especially when the weather is as lovely as it has been.
“After visiting the aquarium, the residents have decided they may like a fish tank for the dementia unit. Trips like these always really stimulate their interests.
“It’s great to see them lively and animated for days afterwards, talking about the animals with those who couldn’t come along.”
