What the Elf! Care Home Gets Festive for Alzheimer’s Charity

Residents and staff at Barchester’s Upton Bay Care Home, Hamworthy, Poole, enjoyed getting dressed up in their festive finery to mark Elf Day, a national initiative from the Alzheimer’s Society.

Organised by Wellbeing Activity Lead, Karen Grant A’Court, residents of Upton Bay, adorned in elf hats, ears, and Christmas jumpers, enjoyed a day of yuletide music and active games.

“Everyone has truly loved getting into the spirit of Christmas, and for such a worthy cause close to our hearts, being a dedicated dementia and Alzheimer’s care home,” commented Karen.

Staff brought a little joy to each resident with their sparkly elf hats, big and small, with some of the care home team pulling out all the stops with their Noel-inspired outfits for the day.

Ivy, resident, said, “It’s a perfectly good reason to look a little bit silly for the day; my pointed ears turned a few heads!”
