Wendy In “Close Shave” Fundraiser In Aid Of Cancer Support

wendyWendy Jones of the Cartref Care home in Ceredigion Wales said “goodbye” to her tresses for a worthy cause last month when she had her head shaved to raise funds for Macmillan cancer support. Macmillan Cancer Support is dedicated to reaching and improving the lives of those living with cancer and aims to inspire millions of others to do the same.

Wendy who has worked as part of the night team at Cartef for many years, sat patiently as a head was shaved by Paul Jones of Howells & Jones Hair Boutique in Llanybyther .

A proud Wendy raised £500. Following Wendy’s fundraising efforts Manager Jackie and her team, plus family and friends of residents at the home took part in a sponsored walk and raised £2600 which will go towards supporting the running of the home.

Care Manager Jackie said: “We are incredibly proud of Wendy and the whole team for their bravery and support. Delivering care and support services ourselves, we understand the work and research related charities do and how vital it is to help them continue. This is why we do our utmost to raise funds at every available opportunity.
